PADI Divemaster

A PAD Divemaster is the first professional rating in the PADI system. As a PADI Divemaster you becomes a member of PADI, the Professional Association of Diving Instructors. PADI supports you as a member with all necessary forms in multiple languages you need to practice your activities as a PADI pro, with materials for you and your students and certification cards for divers trained by you. Furthermore you can contact PADI training consultants in case of training related questions, you receive four times in a year a training bulletin which contains tips and tricks for training, informs about changes in the standards and similar things. Additionally you receive the Undersea Journal and you have access to the PADI Member webpage. To use this services and to work active as a PADI Divemaster you have to renewal your PADI membership annually.

During your PADI Divemaster course you work closely with a PADI Instructor to expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills to the professional level. PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities, qualifying you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers. PADI Divemaster is the prerequisite certification for both the PADI Assistant Instructor and PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor certifications.

Content of the course:

  • Knowledge development segments, including knowledge reviews in the Divemaster manual or Divemaster Online and final exam
  • Create an Emergency Assistance Plan for a designated dive site
  • Waterskills exercises
  • A diver rescue assessment
  • Dive skills workshop and assessment
  • Practical application skills
  • Divemaster-conducted programs workshop
  • Practical assessments
  • Meet the professionalism criteria

Requirements for the course:
  • Minimum 18 years old (before course start)
  • Certified as PADI Advanced Open Water Diver
  • Certified as PADI Rescue Diver
  • EFR Primary Care and Secondary Care training within 24 months (valid during the whole course)
  • 40 logged open water dives by course start
  • 60 logged open water dives to complete the course
  • Medical evaluated and cleared for diving by a physician within 12 months (valid during the whole course)
  • PADI Divemaster Manual
  • PADI Instructor Manual
  • RDP table and eRDPML including Instructions for Use booklets
  • The Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving
  • Divemaster Slates
  • Logbook
